MEET THE AGENT - JAY BERGMANN
After growing up and spending my childhood years in the northeast, I had the privilege of attending Rutgers University as a Student/Athlete. After years of playing college baseball, I was offered my dream job! I was fortunate enough to be drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 11th round of the MLB Draft in 2002. I pitched professionally for the next 12 years. I was blessed with the opportunity to pitch in the Major Leagues with the Washington Nationals (2005-2010). My playing days also included time spent with the Boston Red Sox (2011), Oakland A’s (2011), Colorado Rockies (2012), and Kansas City Royals (2013) organizations. I would not have traded those years for anything in the world.
As the old saying goes, "All good things must come to an end," and in 2014 I stopped pursuing my Major League pitching career and turned to a new path. A business mentor introduced me to the insurance industry, and I felt a true calling. I have a real passion for helping people know and understand what insurance means and how it affects them. I have been a licensed insurance broker since my baseball career ended and have spent time both as a captive agent as well as an independent broker representing numerous carriers. My knowledge and expertise in insurance has proven to be valuable to my clients over the years. It has allowed me to help hundreds of people navigate a minefield of information that many never truly understand. I have the opportunity to show people that they can have great coverage without paying crazy premiums. Since moving to the broker side of the industry, I have seen ways to save people their hard earned dollars and significantly protect their most prized possessions.
I am married to an absolute angel, Jarah. My wife exemplifies the kind of person I will always strive to be. She supports me fully and even after almost 15 years together, our life is always fun and interesting! Jarah and I have two incredible children that mean the world to us. They make me happy and proud every time I look at them. I love their wonderment and fascination with life.
When I am not working, or spending time with my family, I volunteer with the Lake Travis Youth Association. I would love to impart some of my knowledge to others. I am glad to coach and assist with the growth of our children thorough Theater, Choir, and sports.
